This three credit course in the Doctorate of Chinese Medicine program will analyze the classical medical text, Wēn Bìng Xué (温 病 学; “Warm-Febrile Disease Study”). This class will trace the historical development of Wēn Bìng Xué and will cover its diagnostic theories, including Wèi Qì Yíng Xuè (卫 气 营 血) and Sān Jiāo (三 焦). It will also introduce common and specific warm disease states, analyzing their etiologies, pathogeneses, diagnoses, treatments and prevention methods with an emphasis on herbal medical treatment.
